GOD
In an attempt to understand the world as they found it ancient civilizations created various gods to explain what they could not comprehend or explain. These “gods” were thought to control everything in their known existence- rain, floods, sun light, etc. Eventually, these “gods “evolved into a single, all knowing, omnipresent God and who is often represented as an old man sitting on a throne in Heaven to whom we pray who controls all things .
With all due respect to Dr. Hawking, the time may have come for him to reconsider his conclusions on this subject. The Universe was created from nothing and therefore is nothing more than a thought. But a thought is “something” and that something is our reality. Portions of consciousness can merge with individual parcels of matter and/or energy to become “life”. When life ends, memories of that “life” are brought back through the consciousness that remains into the pool of knowledge in the universal consciousness of the awareness of nothing ( i.e. Akashic Record) and the Universe progresses. Because the physical body is a physical host for consciousness and is made of matter and energy it deteriorates over time and is destined by its very existence , like all material things, to end. However, the physical "life" allows us to interact with and change the physical reality. The matter, energy and consciousness that created "life" remains after the death of the physical "life" , but the matter , energy and consciousness remain in their independent, but changed, forms to be recycled and used again in the Cosmos.
Accordingly, when we die, our “life” ends and there is no more “life” , but our consciousness (sometimes called our “Soul” or "Buddhi" a/k/a the Monad of the Manas, Buddhi and Atma) remains. Since the entire Universe is nothing more than a thought (an awareness of nothing), then like thinking groups of individual consciousness with the retained memories of "life" can create whatever “gods” or “heavens and hells” they can conceive limited only by their imagination and those places can seem no less real than our present conscious reality of this lifetime. It is logical that those who have preceded us in death have created and order to the afterlife realm.
In our reality during our life here on Earth we act as the sense organs of God (Awareness of Nothing) so that during our lives we will observe , obtain knowledge and experience the material Universe with our consciousness and return those things to the Universe of consciousness when we die, which “death of life” is nothing more than a transformation of our individual consciousness from the reality of the material Universe to the reality of the Universe of pure consciousness?
We are born with a free will to act as we may in order for God to learn from our observations and experiences how to best direct and steer the course of the future of the Universe through infinity. Our behavior in this life will determine where our consciousness may be placed in our next life, or whether the cycle of endless life and rebirth will cease. Very little in life is predetermined or predestined.
God is not an old man sitting in a chair somewhere in the sky who is controlling everything that happens (anthropomorphic god). God is the evolution of the “awareness of nothing” which exist everywhere in the Universe reinforced by the memories, knowledge and experiences of countless trillions of living things which have preceded us. All of that knowledge and experience creates our reality. All life, wherever found in the Universe, has a "before life" and "after life" , therefore we are closely related to all life that exist anywhere.
People often ask “what is the purpose of life”, “why are we here”, “who am I”, “what is the world about” and many similar questions. The answer is simply that the purpose of life is to see how far we can take this Universe which started from nothing. We and everything we can see, hear, touch or feel, everything we know and everything we will ever experience, are all a part of God . Without “consciousness" what is the reason for the Universe? How would it be appreciated? What purpose would its existence serve if there was no one or nothing to be aware of its existence? Why would it even matter that it existed? In truth no Universe could ever exist without consciousness, because it is consciousness that created and maintains material reality.
It is pure folly to say that one prophet or a single messenger alone speaks for God. We all are a part of God and we all speak for God, more or less. Some just do it much better than others. Some don’t care at all, it is a thought the never crosses their minds. By focusing only on themselves and their immediate surroundings they lose the meaning of the whole. There have been many great "prophets" and there will be many more to come. Their individuality is not important, but their messages are.
Why would God reveal himself to only one person, of only one race, in only one society, in only one place in the World? If there is a God who was going reveal himself to anyone he would reveal himself to everyone. God may work something like Quantum Mechanics in that if you look you will find because the act of looking makes the thing happen because we are creating the Universe (including the consciousness reality after life) as we go along in a constantly changing and developing Universe. It is similar to the Christian principal that says “seek and you shall find”.
Our various religions actually reflect the collective knowledge and experience of the Universal Consciousness which we call God. But when we, as feeble and imperfect living beings, attempt to express the revelations we have learned from searching, we can only do so in the context of and in reference to what we know from the society in which we live. Therefore, expressions of revelations from the Universal Consciousness seem different and unique, not because the main ideas or themes are so different, but because the references and expressions used to explain them are different depending on the social reference of the so called profit.
Our purpose in life then is to appreciate, enjoy and leave the Universe a better place than we found it ; to help it progress forward and develop. Is there an after “life”? The answer is clearly no, but there is absolutely a “consciousness” after death. What form does that after death consciousness take? Any form it wants. Is there a heaven and a hell? There may be as many heavens and many hells as can be imagined. What can we do to be sure we can go to a good place when we die? When we die our consciousness will gravitate to similar thinking consciousness that have preceded us. Our consciousness may return to a "life" someday but it will be in a body different from the one we had in the last “life”. It may be possible to be promoted to a higher or lower order of consciousness depending upon how a consciousness lives its life in a physical body.
We must enjoy our lives and the world in which we live during this "life". Music, art, religion, wine, money, power, leadership, family, loyalty, reverence, humility, love, intimacy, etc. are all positive things which we must enjoy in order to truly appreciate and experience the Universe. However, we must use these things wisely and in moderation, without harming anyone else and for the good of the whole while always keeping in mind that our purpose in life is to leave the Universe a better place than we found it and to appreciate its existence for that gives meaning and purpose to the Universe and helps it to progress. We must also realize that our actions in life create what the future of the Universe will be, therefore our choices affect not only ourselves, but our contemporaries and the ones that will follow us, which may simply be "us" all over again.
An anthropomorphic God does not exist. God is the Universal Consciousness that exist in everything and is everywhere. No one person can ever speak for God, but the collective thoughts of many can reveal God to whomever takes the time to search.
